BMO Academy Report: 'Caps defeat Mexican side at U-13 Champions League

SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA – The ‘Caps Pre-Academy boys – part of the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System – won their first match at the 2019 Concacaf U-13 Champions League on Monday, defeating Mexican side Pioneros de Cancún 1-0.

Captain Dominic Di Paola scored the winning goal in the 14th minute on a penalty kick after he was taken down in the box. With a solid all-around team performance in front of him, goalkeeper Michael Adams registered the clean sheet in net.

The ‘Caps now have a break on Tuesday before moving on to the placement matches starting on Wednesday.
