  • Supplemental club training for motivated boys and girls in a professional club environment.
  • Train the Whitecaps Way. Participants follow an official Whitecaps FC training curriculum.
  • All sessions delivered by Whitecaps FC Island Academy Centre Head Coach Kevin Lindo and Associate Head Coach Larry Stefanek. 
  • Overseen by Whitecaps Pre-Residency and Academy Centre Head Coach Bart Choufour
  • Visits included from Whitecaps FC Vancouver based coaching staff.
  • Connected to the Whitecaps Academy Centre network to provide greater exposure and additional opportunities. 
  • The Whitecaps are committed to work closely with the VIPL and the BCSPL Island Wave as part of the pathway in forwarding players. 

BC Academy Centre - High Potential Prospect (HPP) Program

  • This academy centre is proud to participate in the BC Academy Centre HPP Program which provide's players participating in our regional academy centres the opportunity to represent the club at various event's throughout the year. To read more about this exciting opportunity, click here. 

Structure

  • Boys & Girls U8 to U18
  • Invite only.
  • Player remain with clubs. 
  • Ten month program: three phases (September through June)

Fall 2017 - 11 sessions

High Potential Player Event - HPP Challenge in Vancouver on October 13-15, more details to follow. 

Pre-Prospects - U8 to U12 Boys & Girls (2010-2006)

  • Mondays, 5:30 to 7:00 pm, September 11 to December 4
    • September: 11, 18, 25
    • October: 2, 16, 23, 30
    • November: 6, 13, 20, 27
    • December: 4 
      • No session: October 9 - Thanksgiving

Prospects - U13 to U18 Boys & Girls (2005-2000)

  • Mondays, 7:00 to 8:30 pm, September 11 to December 4
    • September: 11, 18, 25
    • October: 2, 16, 23, 30
    • November: 6, 13, 20, 27
    • December: 4
      • No session: October 9 - Thanksgiving

Winter 2018 - 11 sessions

High Potential Player Event - HPP PacNW Showcase in Seattle, more details to be provided during the Fall phase of training. 

January to March - Dates to be determined. 

Spring 2018

April to June

  • Possible training opportunities in Vancovuer for High Potential Players.

​Winter/Fall sessions - Arbutus Meadows Indoor facility
Spring sessions - May Richards Bennet Pioneer Park (Wednesday's)
 
                       - Arrowview Elementary (Sunday's)



Evaluation & Registration

All players must be evaluated to participate.   

Fees:

  • Fall:  $275 + GST
  • Fees do not include travel projects which will be detailed by the regional head coach.

Equipment

  • All NEW players require a WFC training kit and track suit.
  • One-time fee, valid for at least two years
  • Mandatory - Training kit (shorts, shirt, socks) - $80 + GST
  • Mandatory - Track suit - $105 + GST
