VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Wednesday that Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) will play their next three home matches in MLS NEXT Pro at BC Place. Both ‘Caps teams will be in action at the stadium on July 8, July 15, and August 20, with the WFC2 matches kicking off at 2 p.m. PT and the MLS matches at 7:30 p.m. PT.
WFC2 currently sit third in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference, and have led the league in call-ups to MLS over the first two years. The team has already provided a pathway for up-and-coming talent to the first team, with both Ali Ahmed and Simon Becher signing MLS contracts after the first season. Ahmed, 2022 WFC2 Player of the Year, recently won Best Young Canadian Player for the 2023 Canadian Championship, and is currently with Canada's men's national team at the Concacaf Gold Cup. Becher, who led WFC2 in scoring last year, already has seven goals with the first team this season, and was named MLS Player of the Matchday after setting an MLS record as the fastest player in MLS history to score his first four goals. This season, the 'Caps have called up three players on short-term agreements, including a start for Levonte Johnson in the 2023 Canadian Championship final win over CF Montreal.
Tickets to enter BC Place for the WFC2 matches are separate from the tickets for the MLS matches, and all spectators will be required to leave the stadium in-between matches. Capacity for WFC2 matches is limited and on a first come, first serve basis.
Season ticket members can access their complimentary tickets by using their account number as their access key at checkout. Youth 18 and under get in free. WFC2 tickets can be purchased through Universe, priced at only $10. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets in advance.
