NEVER SAY DIE: For the second consecutive match, WFC2 came back from behind to earn a result. Previously it was at Real Monarchs, where they overturned a 1-0 deficit to win in the shootout. This past weekend they twice came back, first from 1-0 and then with a 95th minute equalizer to make it 2-2 before falling in the shootout.

DOUBLE DOUBLE: Also for the second consecutive match, WFC2 saw a midfielder score twice in the second half. In Utah it was Giovanni Aguilar scoring twice with his head, and this past match it was Calgary's Owen Antoniuk with the penalty kick and dramatic header. Who will step up next?

SERIES HISTORY: While this is the first meeting between the two sides in MLS NEXT Pro, and the first under the Tacoma Defiance name, the 'Caps did battle Seattle Sounders FC 2 a total of 11 times in USL from 2015 to 2017, going 3W-5L-3D.
