Preview: WFC2 look to keep rolling at North Texas SC

WFC2 cele 2

It's been an impressive run for Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) in recent weeks as they've now won four straight matches, picked up points in six straight, and have vaulted up to second place in the Western Conference of MLS NEXT Pro. On Saturday they will look to keep it rolling when they head south to take on North Texas SC, the MLS NEXT Pro side of FC Dallas.

STREAKING: Since a 1-0 defeat against Houston Dynamo 2 in their first match, WFC2 have not been defeated in regulation time. Amidst their six match points streak, they have now won four matches in a row, including their last two road matches at Tacoma Defiance and St. Louis City 2. Their results have jumped WFC2 up to second in the Western Conference, tied with North Texas SC on 15 points.

COMEBACK KIDS: For the third time this season, WFC2 came back to secure points, and for the second time on the road. They came back from a goal down at Real Monarchs, twice at home to Timbers 2, and then impressively they overturned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 win in St. Louis last weekend.

OLD FRIENDS: Saturday's match will see a familiar face on the sidelines, as North Texas SC is led by former Whitecaps FC player and staff coach Pa-Modou Kah. The former Norwegian international was last at Pacific FC before joining the Texas side as head coach going into their inaugural season. Another familiar face will be Edmonton's Paul Amedume, who spent time in the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy and scored his first goal in MLS NEXT Pro during their match against Tacoma Defiance last weekend.
