CASCADIA RIVALRY: After drawing 1-1 with Crystal Palace U21 at the MLS NEXT Pro Invitational, Whitecaps FC 2 return to league play on Sunday for their second meeting of the season against Cascadia rivals Tacoma Defiance at Starfire Sports Stadium. In their previous visit to Starfire, the young 'Caps claimed a come-from-behind 2-1 victory in April 2022.
PLAYOFF HUNTING: Heading into the weekend's action, WFC2 sit in fifth in MLS NEXT Pro's Western Conference, with seven points separating them from second-placed Austin FC II. A big part of the young 'Caps playoff push has been their home form, recording the second-best home record in the conference with six wins and two regulation losses.
