The match marks the second consecutive doubleheader at BC Place, with the first team taking on Portland Timbers in another Cascadia clash at 7:30 p.m. PT as they host their third annual Women and Girls in Soccer Celebration match, presented by Johnston and Meier Insurance Agencies Group. CASCADIA CLASH: Whitecaps FC 2 aim to continue their unbeaten start to the MLS NEXT Pro regular season as they host Cascadia rivals Portland Timbers2 this Saturday, March 23 at BC Place. The young 'Caps are coming off a thrilling 5-3 victory in their home opener over Real Monarchs SLC, thanks to goals from Eliot Goldthorp, Nicolas Fleauriau Chateau, Cyprian Kachwele, and a Lowell Wright brace. Mihail Gherasimencov also notched two assists in the match, which is tied for the most in the league.

A FAMILIAR FACE: WFC2 will recognize a familiar face on the Timbers2 roster on Saturday in former midfielder Malcolm Johnston. The Canadian spent the 2023 season with Vancouver, starting 12 of his 17 appearances and scoring two goals. He is also the brother of Canadian men's national team defender Alistair Johnston. In addition, Timbers2 features fellow Canadians Mataeo Bunbury and Keesean Ferdinand.
