BURNABY, BC – Whitecaps FC 2 recorded their third straight victory with a 2-0 result against Western Conference foes San Jose Earthquakes II.

The young ‘Caps started things off quickly at Swangard Stadium, as midfielder Vasco Fry won a ball inside the box and directed his shot into the top right corner of the net in the second minute of the match to give the home side the early 1-0 advantage.

In the 17th minute, Elagbe Bah lofted an over the top through ball to forward Simon Becher, who’s shot went right outside the far post.

The ‘Quakes pushed on late in the second half for an equalizer, but WFC2’s defensive efforts fended off the away side’s momentum.

Fast forward to the second half, a shot from Brienza inside the box went right off the crossbar in the 88th minute, as the young ‘Caps were inches away from widening their 1-0 lead late in the second half.
