TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH: Whitecaps FC 2 are back home this Saturday as they host their first of three matches at BC Place. The young 'Caps are set to take on Western Conference leaders Colorado Rapids 2 in a top of the table clash, with the side coming into the match having won three of their last five matches, losing their first match of the season on June 18 against Tacoma Defiance.
FEEDING THE PIPELINE: Last week, the 'Caps first team announced the signing of MLS NEXT Pro forward Levonte Johnson to an MLS contract through to the end of 2023, with club options for 2024 and 2025. The product of Brampton, Ontario leads WFC2 in goals this season with six and sits in the top three for expected goals as well as expected goals/shot in MLS NEXT Pro. Johnson became the third Whitecaps FC 2 player to sign with the first team, joining Ali Ahmed and Simon Becher, while also becoming the MLS NEXT Pro's 50th player to sign a first team contract.
