Grant Application Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the submission of applications for grant funding from Whitecaps FC Foundation (the “Foundation”) for the Home Field Heroes grant program (the “Program”). By submitting a grant application, each applicant (the “Applicant”) acknowledges and agrees to these Terms.
Program
- In partnership with TELUS, the Foundation is offering grants to qualified community and soccer organizations throughout British Columbia (the “Program”). Applicants may apply for a grant of up to $15,000 to upgrade their soccer pitches, purchase new soccer equipment, or improve their soccer-related infrastructure.
Eligibility
- To be eligible to apply for a Program grant, the Applicant must be (i) CRA registered charity or a qualified donee with a focus on soccer programming in British Columbia; or (ii) an affiliate of BC Soccer Association. The Foundation may request proof of eligibility from an Applicant, including but not limited to incorporation documents, charitable registration numbers, financial statements, or other supporting documentation.
Application
- Applicants should submit their applications at https://www.whitecapsfc.com/foundation/programs/home-field-heroes by 5:00 p.m. PST on October 30, 2025. Each application must be complete, accurate, and submitted by the applicable deadline specified in the Guidelines. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
- By submitting an application, the individual completing and submitting the application represents and warrants that they have full legal authority to act on behalf of the Applicant organization, including the authority to submit the application, make representations to the Foundation, and bind the organization to the terms and conditions of the application process.
Use of Application Information
- By submitting an application, the Applicant consents to the Foundation collecting, using, and storing information provided in the application for the purposes of:
a. evaluating eligibility and merit;
b. administering the grant program; and
c. complying with applicable laws and regulations.
- Additionally, by submitting an application, the Applicant grants the Foundation a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, reproduce, publish, display, and distribute the Applicant’s name, logo, project title, and a summary of the proposed project, as well as any other information submitted in the application, for purposes of marketing, promotion, public announcements, case studies, and other Foundation communications, in any media now known or later developed. The Applicant represents and warrants that it owns or otherwise has all necessary rights, permissions, and authority to grant the foregoing license, and that the Foundation’s use of such information will not infringe or violate any third-party rights.
- The Foundation will handle personal information submitted by the Applicant in connection with the Program in accordance with the Whitecaps FC Privacy Policy, available at https://www.mlssoccer.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Applicants acknowledge that submission of an application does not create a confidential relationship, and the Foundation is under no obligation to keep any submitted information confidential except as required by law.
Evaluation and Decisions
- All applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the Foundation in accordance with its Guidelines and evaluation criteria. The Foundation reserves full discretion to approve or deny any application, award partial funding, or attach conditions to the award of any grant. Decisions of the Foundation are final and Applicants shall have no right of appeal or review.
Grant Awards
- Successful Applicants will be notified in writing by December 15, 2025. Disbursement of funds pursuant to this Program may be subject to the successful applicant’s execution and submission of documents or agreements required by the Foundation or other third parties responsible for administering the funds.
Representations and Warranties
- By submitting an application, the Applicant represents and warrants that:
a. all information provided is true, complete, and accurate;
b. the Applicant has the authority to apply for and receive the grant;
c. the Applicant is either (i) a CRA registered charity or a qualified donee with a focus on soccer programming in British Columbia or (ii) an affiliate of BC Soccer Association.
d. the Applicant is in compliance with and will in connection with this Application comply with all applicable laws, including those relating to charitable activities, privacy, and financial reporting.
Indemnity and Limitation of Liability
- The Applicant shall indemnify and hold harmless the Foundation, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC LP, and their respective affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising out of the Applicant’s application, participation in the Program, or use of grant funds.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Foundation shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, or for any loss of revenue, profits, or data, arising out of or in connection with the Program, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Termination
- The Foundation may, at its sole discretion and without liability to any Applicant, cancel or modify the Program at any time. With respect to any application, the Foundation may, at its sole discretion and without liability to the Applicant, terminate the application process or cancel any award of a grant to the Applicant at any time if:
a. the Applicant has provided false or misleading information;
b. the Applicant becomes ineligible; or
c. circumstances arise making the award of the grant impractical or unlawful.
Amendments
- The Foundation reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time by posting updated Terms on its website. Applicants are responsible for reviewing the Terms prior to submission of any application.
Governing Law
- These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Vancouver, British Columbia.
