Whitecaps FC look to extend their club MLS unbeaten record to 10 matches when they continue their homestand against Austin FC at BC Place on Saturday. Another three points would give the ‘Caps four straight wins, matching a record they previously set in March 14 to April 4, 2015. They currently sit just a point below the playoff line in the Western Conference race and are coming off a memorable victory last weekend over Real Salt Lake.

DEFENSIVE ADJUSTMENTS: The ‘Caps will be without a pair of key players on defence in Javain Brown and Maxime Crepeau, who are both away on international duty for Jamaica and Canada, respectively. Janio Bikel, Bruno Gaspar, and Marcus Godinho all figured in the win over Real Salt Lake last Sunday, and are options at full back. Last weekend, Cristian Gutierrez and Jake Nerwinski were unavailable due to injury. Thomas Hasal made five consecutive starts in Crepeau’s absence last July, going 1W-1L-3D in net.

ON THE OFFENSIVE: It was a road result at Q2 Stadium that ignited the current winning streak for the ‘Caps. Whitecaps FC and Austin FC get reacquainted at BC Place, with the Austin attack coming in good form as of late, tallying three goals in each of their last two outings. The ‘Caps four goals versus RSL was their highest scoring output since September 30, 2019 at LA Galaxy.
