Canada Soccer announced on Monday that Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) midfielder Jeevan Badwal has been called up to Canada's U-20 men's national team for the upcoming Concacaf U-20 Championship Qualifiers. The three-game group stage will take place in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago and serve as a qualifier to the 2024 Concacaf U-20 Championship this summer.

Badwal, 17, recently signed his first professional contract with WFC2, and earned his first call-up to the first team for the first leg of the Round One Concacaf Champions Cup series against Tigres UANL. As an amateur player with WFC2 in 2023, Badwal made five starts in eight MLS NEXT Pro appearances.

On the international stage, Badwal represented Canada at the U-17 level, starting all three matches at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia.

Canada has been drawn in Group D, where they will face Dominica, St. Vincent & The Grenadines and Trinidad & Tobago. The team will begin the group stage against Dominica on Friday, February 23, followed by St. Vincent & The Grenadines on Sunday, February 25, and concluding against Trinidad & Tobago on Tuesday, February 27. Canada will gather in Trinidad & Tobago on Friday, February 16 in preparation for the Qualifiers.

All of Canada’s matches will air LIVE and exclusively on OneSoccer, available on the fuboTV Canada platform, as a linear channel on Telus’s Optik TV (Channel 980), as well as online at OneSoccer.ca and through the OneSoccer app. Fans will find extended coverage across Canada Soccer’s digital channels on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube featuring the hashtag #CANM20.
