January 21, 2018. It was the 100th Bundesliga goal of Thomas Müller's illustrious career.

Vision. Finesse. Execution.

A perfectly timed run into a pocket of space by the Raumdeuter.

But equally, a perfectly weighted and perfectly timed pass by his Bayern Munich teammate, Colombian national team star James Rodríguez.

Two great football minds. Poetry in motion.

Mia San Mia

Müller and Rodríguez played together over two seasons at Bayern Munich.

Unsurprisingly, Rodríguez was quoted as saying that the incredibly likeable Müller was one of his best friends on the team.

And a relationship with Radio Müller is never a dull one.

Said Rodríguez: "Müller taught me the bad German words, and said: 'If you want to learn polite words, go see Toni Kroos'."

Müller said of Rodríguez to bundesliga.com"He's someone who distributes the ball, and actually makes passes that perhaps no one else here does... and his technique is fantastic. I like being on the pitch with James."

In their time together, they helped Bayern win two Bundesliga titles, one DFB-Pokal, and two German Super Cups.

Golden Boots

Rewind a few years earlier, and you will find more evidence of what has made these two players truly world class.

2010 FIFA World Cup. Golden Boot for Müller with five goals and three assists in six games.

2014 FIFA World Cup. Golden Boot for Rodríguez with six goals and two assists in five matches.

When the stage was biggest, both players delivered for their country.

Will history be made?

While nothing is ever guaranteed in sports, should they both play this coming Sunday, March 15, it would mark the first ever MLS match featuring two FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winners.*

More importantly, another crucial three points will be on the line for two of last season's top teams in the Western Conference.

BC Place will be electric.

\ Team rosters and player participation are subject to change and cannot be guaranteed.*
