VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Sebastian Berhalter, defender Tristan Blackmon, and striker Brian White have been called up to the United States men's national team training camp for their upcoming September international friendlies. White will miss the camp and remain in Vancouver to rehab a hamstring strain sustained in the second half of the 'Caps 3-2 win over St. Louis CITY SC on Saturday.
The U.S. will play friendly matches against Korea Republic at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey on September 6, and versus Japan at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio on September 9.
Blackmon earns his first call-up to the United States men's national team in the midst of an oustanding season in which he was selected to the 2025 MLS All-Star Game. As one of the top contenders for MLS Defender of the Year, the American has helped Whitecaps FC keep a league-high 11 clean sheets. Blackmon has also contributed at the offensive end of the pitch, crucial in possession while adding four goals scored across all competitions.
Berhalter returns to the USMNT after receiving his first call-up leading into this summer's 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup. The MLS All-Star went on to start all five of his Gold Cup appearances, recording two assists while helping his country reach the final. For the 'Caps, Berhalter is having a career season, recording his eighth assist of the season in all competitions on Saturday to go along with his five goals scored.
White was also called back in by head coach Mauricio Pochettino after being a part of this summer's Concacaf Gold Cup squad. For his country, White has totalled eight appearances, scoring in his lone start against Costa Rica earlier this year. At the club level, the 'Caps leading scorer and 2025 MLS All-Star scored a goal for a fourth straight match on Saturday before leaving the game, tying his career high with 20 goals in all competitions.
The USMNT continues their preparations under Pochettino, as they prepare to host the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico.
