VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Kenji Cabrera has been called up to Peru's men's national team for their November international window.

The 22-year-old receives his fifth call-up to the senior team, having also been part of the group in the previous two windows. Peru will play two friendlies during the window, facing off against Russia on Wednesday, November 12 and then against CONMEBOL rivals Chile on Tuesday, November 18.

Born to a Peruvian father and a Japanese mother in Shiga, Japan, Cabrera has represented Peru at the youth level, making 14 appearances for the U-20 side. So far, Cabrera has earned three caps for Peru's senior side.

Cabrera joined Whitecaps FC via transfer as a U22 Initiative signing from Peruvian side FBC Melgar in July 2025 and has gone on to make two starts and 11 appearances with the club since arriving in Vancouver. The youngster scored his first goal for the club in his first start on September 20 against Sporting Kansas City and recorded his second goal in his MLS Cup Playoffs debut at BC Place against FC Dallas on October 26.
