Canada capture vital 2-0 win against United States in Concacaf World Cup Qualifying

Canada's Men's National Team extended their lead at the top of the Concacaf FIFA World Cup Qualifying standings with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over the United States on Sunday at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario.

In the seventh minute, Canada found the breakthrough as Cyle Larin scored his record-breaking 23rd goal to become the leading goalscorer in Canadian men's national team history, surpassing Dwayne De Rosario's record.

The United States continued to press for an equalizer throughout the match, but Canada held firm in defence and doubled their lead in second half stoppage time.

Former 'Cap Homegrown Sam Adekugbe brought the ball down from mid-air, raced in on goal and smashed in his first international goal for Canada, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
