Canada earned another point on Sunday towards qualification to the 2022 FIFA World Cup with a 1-1 draw against the United States at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

Maxime Crépeau and Lucas Cavallini were both dressed for Canada. Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System products Sam Adekugbe and Alphonso Davies earned the start, with former 'Caps centre back Doneil Henry also slotted in.

A back-and-forth first half ended 0-0 before the U.S. opened the scoring in the second half on a goal from former Philadelphia Union Homegrown player Brenden Aaronson.

Later in the second half, Adekugbe fed Davies down the wing who burst into the American box and centred for Cyle Larin to tap in and score the goal that would ultimately earn the result for the Red & White.

Next up is a match against El Salvador on Wednesday at BMO Field in Toronto. The match will be broadcast live on Sportsnet and OneSoccer.

Following the match, Crépeau and Cavallini will return to the 'Caps on Thursday before a massive home match against Portland Timbers on Friday at BC Place. Tickets remain available at ticketmaster.ca/whitecaps.
