Canada Soccer announced on Tuesday that four players from the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Academy are among 21 players who will represent Canada at the 2024 Concacaf Women's U-17 Championship. Set to take place at the Mexican Football Federation's headquarters in Toluca, Mexico, this tournament serves as a crucial qualifying stage for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup scheduled in October in the Dominican Republic.
Canada will compete in Group B, where they will face Puerto Rico, Panama, and the United States. The team will begin their group-stage journey against Puerto Rico on Friday, February 2, followed by Panama on Sunday, February 4 and a highly anticipated clash with the United States on Tuesday, February 6. Led by Head Coach Emma Humphries, Canada will gather in Mexico on Tuesday, January 23 to complete their final preparations for the competition.

Following group stage play, the top two teams from each group will progress to the knockout stage comprising of the Semifinals, a Third-Place Match, and the Championship match. At the end of the tournament, the top two finishers will secure their spots for the 2024 FIFA Women's U-17 World Cup alongside the Dominican Republic (host), guaranteeing a total of three Concacaf nations in the global showcase.
In August 2023, Canada participated in the Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Qualifiers, clinching two victories against Dominica and Bermuda. This success paved the way for Canada's participation in the 2024 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Championship. This Championship serves as a crucial platform for young talents to showcase their skills, gain international experience and exposes players to high-level competition within the region.
