‘Caps to wear limited edition jerseys made from ocean plastic for Earth Day

Lifestyle - Parley - jersey

Vancouver Whitecaps FC will be donning adidas Parley jerseys made from recycled ocean plastic in conjunction with MLS Works this Friday in Kansas City.

With Earth Day approaching this Sunday, April 22, MLS WORKS is hosting its third annual Greener Goals Week of Service. In partnership with Greener Goals Week of Service, MLS has collaborated with adidas to support Parley for the Oceans. In all Week 8 matches, MLS players will wear special adidas kits, built of technical yarns made using Parley Ocean Plasticâ„¢.

This collaboration was first introduced in 2017 when four MLS clubs – New York City FC, Orlando City SC, LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders FC – played in the MLS x Parley kits on Earth Day, but this year the 2018 edition of the jerseys will be supported by all MLS clubs, coming in two minimalist colourways, non-dye and carbon, differentiating the two teams in each game.

A limited supply of Whitecaps FC Parley jerseys will be available at the club's Official Gastown Store in the coming weeks.

For your chance to win a limited edition Vancouver Whitecaps FC Parley jersey, you can participate in MLS WORKS, #GreenerGoals initiative. Simply tweet a photo/video that shows how you're spending time on green initiatives ahead of Earth Day, and include #GreenerGoals AND #Sweepstakes in your Tweet.

One participant will be selected randomly to win a special edition jersey from the team of their choice, the contest runs from Monday, April 16 through midnight on Sunday, April 22. Read the full rules here.

You can watch the ‘Caps play in the special edition kits on Friday as Whitecaps FC look to pick up all three points against Western Conference-leading Sporting Kansas City at Children’s Mercy Park. The match will be broadcast on TSN2 and available for listeners on TSN 1040 at 6 p.m. P.T.
