Charged for the Battery - 24 Hours

The Whitecaps men are fighting to hold on to that final postseason spot.

Currently sitting seventh in the USL-1 standings with 27 points, Vancouver (7-9-6) is looking to snap a five-game winless streak tonight as they visit the Charleston Battery (12-4-8).

It'll be the third and final time these two teams meet this season, as they played to a 0-0 draw during the Whitecaps' season opener, while Charleston won the last matchup 2-1 on August 7.

After playing to a 1-1 draw Tuesday against the Carolina Railhawks, the 'Caps have amassed a 0-2-3 record in the past five matches.

With only two tallies during this recent skid, Vancouver has seen the offense dry up, despite ranking third in the league with 30 goals for.

Striker Marlon James, the team's goals leader with eight, was forced out of Tuesday's game with a suspected groin injury only eight minutes into the match.

Charles Gbeke and Marcus Haber will most likely fill out the top two forward spots in James' absence.

Another area the club will be hoping to improve on is the lack of success on the road, having won only twice (2-6-4) as visitors so far this season.
