Cyprian Kachwele called up to Tanzania for Africa Cup of Nations

VANCOUVER, BC – Whitecaps FC 2 striker Cyprian Kachwele has been called up to the Tanzania men's national team for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire.

Tanzania are making their third appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations, and will be in Group F. The Taifa Stars will play Morocco on January 17, Zambia on January 21, and Democratic Republic of the Congo on January 24.

Should they advance, the Round of 16 will be played January 27-30, the quarterfinals on February 2-3, the semifinals on February 7, the third place match on February 10, and the final on February 11.

Kachwele, 18, will be looking to make his senior international debut with Tanzania. The product of Azam FC was acquired by Whitecaps FC 2 in August and arrived in Vancouver in November ahead of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season.
