VANCOUVER, BC - Among the 27,837 strong that took to BC Place for the 'Caps first-ever MLS Playoffs home match last Sunday was another group of men who proudly wear "Vancouver" across their chest.

Right in the thick of the Western Hockey League season, the Vancouver Giants attended the 'Caps game and soaked in the incredible matchday atmosphere, in hopes of building the team's camaraderie.

"We've made a few trades recently so we have a lot of new faces," centre Dakota Odgers said. "We're trying to build chemistry with one another and we wanted to do something together as a team. We knew the atmosphere the 'Caps put on and what a fun experience it would be for the guys."

The players-only night out may be a turning point for a young team that is still scratching the surface of what they're able to do together on the ice.

"Doing that as a team, you build relationships with the guys and get to know each other better outside the rink. Anytime you know a teammate personally, you go to battle for him and do whatever it takes to win for him," Odgers added.

From the looks of it, the Giants had a grand old time at the 'Caps game. Here's hoping the 'Caps record one more last assist for the season - helping the Giants do Vancouver proud in the WHL.

The Vancouver Giants take on the Kamloops Blazers on Friday, November 13 at the Pacific Coliseum.
