VANCOUVER, BC - It's been a minute, but Vancouver Whitecaps FC eMLS player Gordon "Fiddle" Thornsberry is ready to begin his latest quest for silverware as the 2023 eMLS season gets underway this week with eMLS League Series 1.

The tournament, which will mark the first time Fiddle represents the 'Caps at eMLS, kicks off with the first day of Online Qualifiers on Tuesday, January 24 at 3 p.m. PT. The second day of Online Qualifiers will be held on Wednesday, January 25, also starting at 3 p.m. PT.

Across the two days, Fiddle will play 25 matches in the hopes of reaching the Group Stage, which will be played on Saturday, January 28 in New York City, New York. You can catch all the action live on Fiddle's Twitch channel.

Following the Group Stage, the top 12 players will progress to the Knockout Rounds of eMLS League Series 1 on Sunday, January 29 at the OS NYC Studios in New York City, New York, with gameplay kicking off at 12:30 p.m. PT on the eMLS Twitch. The winner of the tournament will receive $10,000.

Fiddle, who joined the 'Caps in 2021, is a former eMLS League Series champion, having won both the League Series One and League Series Two titles in 2020 as part of FC Cincinnati to finish top of the regular season standings. He also went on to win the EA Sports FIFA 20 Summer Cup Series in North America as the sole representative from eMLS, crowning him the best player on the continent for that year.

In 2021, Fiddle also represented the United States at the FIFAe Nations Cup Qualifiers alongside D.C. United’s KingCJ0. Fiddle and the U.S. finished as runners-up in the tournament, qualifying for the FIFAe Nations Cup in Denmark, which was eventually cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to entering eMLS, Fiddle represented French powerhouse Paris St. Germain, where he won the Gfinity FIFA 18 US Spring Cup.
