VANCOUVER, BC – Concacaf has announced the schedule for the 2024/25 Concacaf W Champions Cup Preliminary Round and Group Stage matches.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite will play their Preliminary Round match in El Salvador against Alianza Women FC on Thursday, August 15 at Estadio Cuscatlan in San Salvador. Kickoff will be at 5 p.m. PT/6 p.m. local time.
Should they advance to the group stage, they would join Group B and play at Club America Femenil (MEX) on August 21, at Santa Fe FC (PAN) on September 4, and host National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) sides San Diego Wave FC (USA) on October 1, and Portland Thorns FC (USA) on October 15.
Additional details will be announced in the coming weeks.
The competition's inaugural edition will feature 11 clubs from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean and be played from August 2024 to May 2025. The W Champions Cup will also be the only path through which Concacaf clubs can qualify for the new FIFA Women’s Club World Cup. FIFA recently announced that the first edition of the Women’s Club World Cup will include 16 clubs and be played between January and February 2026.
The 2024/25 W Champions Cup official draw took place on June 6. During the live TV event in Miami, Florida, the 10 clubs participating in the group stage were split into two groups of five and will play as follows:

COMPETITION FORMAT
The 2024/25 Concacaf W Champions Cup includes a Preliminary Round, followed by group and direct elimination play. The Preliminary Round will be a single-leg match between Alianza Women and Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite, with the winner advancing to the Group Stage.
The Group Stage will feature two groups of five clubs each, with each club playing every club in its group once, for a total of four matches per club (two at home and two away). At the conclusion of Group Stage play, the group winners and runners-up (four clubs in total) will progress to the Finals.
The competition’s Finals, which include Semifinals (1A vs. 2B and 1B vs. 2A), Third-Place Match, and Final, will be played in May 2025 in a centralized venue to be announced.
