Javain Brown called up to Jamaica's men's national team

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC defender Javain Brown has been called up to Jamaica's men's national team for Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal matches against Canada this month.

The first leg of the quarterfinals is set to take place on Friday, November 17 at National Stadium Independence in Kingston, Jamaica, with kickoff set for 4 p.m. PT.

The second leg is scheduled for Tuesday, November 21 and will be played at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario, with kickoff set for 4:30 p.m. PT.

Brown, who started in Jamaica's 0-0 draw against Guatemala on Saturday, November 11, could be facing off against fellow Whitecaps FC teammates Sam Adekugbe, Ali Ahmed, Richie Laryea, and Junior Hoilett.

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC defender Javain Brown has been called up to Jamaica's men's national team for an international friendly against Guatemala this month.

The match is set to take place on Saturday, November 11 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey, with kickoff set for 4 p.m. PT.

Brown, 24, was last called up to Jamaica for Concacaf Nations League matches in October. In total, the 2021 MLS SuperDraft selection has represented his country at the senior international level 24 times since making his debut for Jamaica against Trinidad & Tobago in 2017. After joining the national team program at the U-17 level, the Kingston native made five appearances for the U-20 national team and four appearances at the U-23 level, including three matches at the 2019 Pan American Games in Peru.

This year with the 'Caps, Brown scored one goal and added three assists in 26 starts and 32 appearances across all competitions.

All-time, Brown has tallied two goals, as well as nine assists, in 69 starts and 88 appearances for the 'Caps across three seasons.
