Cristian Dajome was honoured with a bench selection to the MLS Team of the Week on Monday, after leading Whitecaps FC to a 2-1 victory over LA Galaxy.

Dajome scored the game-winner in the 77th minute, upping his team-leading season tally to five.

“Marc (Dos Santos) said to keep moving the ball around, to keep possession flowing around. We were having to keep moving the ball around quickly. If we could do that more it would allow for spaces in between the Galaxy defence to be opened up,” said Dajome following the match.

“We talked about it, trying to lift ourselves up, and I thought we did that out there tonight.”

Dajome and the ‘Caps will now look to build off their latest win against Western Conference rivals Houston Dynamo FC this Tuesday, July 20 at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., and you can catch the match live on TSN1/4 and AM730. Pre-game shows start at 6:30 pm (TV) and 6 p.m. (radio). All times in PT.

“We’ve got to flip the page quickly to Houston (on Tuesday). We'll be trying to give it our all for the Houston game.”
