VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Kenji Cabrera has been called up to Peru's men's national team for their October international window.
The 22-year-old receives his fourth call-up to the senior team, having also been part of the group in the last window back in September as he made his first two appearances for his country. Peru will play one friendly during the window, taking on South American rivals Chile on Friday, October 10 at Estadio Bicentenario de la Florida in Santiago, Chile. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. PT.
Cabrera will miss Whitecaps FC's MLS regular season away match against Orlando City SC on October 11.
Born to a Peruvian father and a Japanese mother in Shiga, Japan, Cabrera has represented Peru at the youth level, making 14 appearances for the U-20 side.
Cabrera joined Whitecaps FC via transfer as a U22 Initiative signing from Peruvian side FBC Melgar in July 2025 and has gone on to make two starts and eight appearances with the club since arriving in Vancouver. The youngster scored his first goal for the club in his first start on September 20 against Sporting Kansas City.
