VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Kenji Cabrera has been called up to Peru's men's national team for the March international window.
The 22-year-old receives his sixth call-up to the senior team, having also been part of the group in the previous three windows. Peru will play two friendlies during the window, facing off against Senegal on Saturday, March 28, with kickoff at 9 a.m. PT, and then against Honduras on Tuesday, March 31 at 11 a.m. PT.
Born to a Peruvian father and a Japanese mother in Shiga, Japan, Cabrera has represented Peru at the youth level, making 14 appearances for the U-20 side. So far, Cabrera has earned five caps for Peru's senior side, all coming after joining Vancouver.
Cabrera joined Whitecaps FC via transfer as a U22 Initiative signing from Peruvian side FBC Melgar in July 2025 and has gone on to make five starts and 18 appearances with the club since arriving in Vancouver. So far this season, Cabrera has started three of his five appearances across all competitions, tallying one goal and one assist.
