NOTES:
Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson makes two changes from his starting XI in last Saturday’s 0-0 draw in Houston. Canadian Marcel de Jong makes his first start at left back for the injured Jordan Harvey (MCL sprain). Blas Pérez starts in place of Nicolás Mezquida as he makes his return to FC Dallas – where he played for four seasons from 2012 to 2015.
Rookie Cole Seiler earns a second straight start at right back after making his MLS debut last match, which he wrote about on whitecapsfc.com.
Kendall Waston and Tim Parker start their fifth consecutive match together after Waston’s return from international duty/suspension. Waston made his first appearance in the MLS All-Star Game on Thursday in San Jose. Parker is making his 18th consecutive MLS start.
Christian Bolaños starts his seventh consecutive match and has played the full 90 minutes in the previous six, while Masato Kudo makes his fourth consecutive start.
Tomorrow, 18 players will head to Trinidad & Tobago for Vancouver’s first match in the 2016-17 CONCACAF Champions League, taking place on Tuesday at 5 p.m. PT against Central FC.
Giles Barnes, who Whitecaps FC acquired late Saturday, will join the rest of the team in Dallas tomorrow night. The ‘Caps will remain in Texas ahead of next weekend’s clash with Colorado Rapids in Commerce City.
