Eight changes from Saturday’s 4-0 win against Real Salt Lake at BC Place. The three players to start both matches are Waston, Harvey, and Laba.
All eight players coming into the lineup started last Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at BC Place against Seattle Sounders FC in the CONCACAF Champions League (Tornaghi, Parker, Rodriguez, Flores, Teibert, Morales, Froese, Mattocks).
Seven starters also started the June 3 MLS match in Montreal, including the entire back line. Morales was a second half substitute and scored on a penalty kick.
Six players starting tonight started the 2-1 victory in the deciding second leg of the Amway Canadian Championship semifinal in Edmonton on May 20 (Tornaghi, Parker, Waston, Teibert, Morales, Mattocks).
Carl Robinson’s XI has an average age of 24 years, 10 months, and one week. Seven starters are 24-years old or younger.
Ten different birth countries are represented in the starting lineup: Argentina, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Honduras, Italy, Jamaica, United States (x2), and Uruguay. The starters also include two Homegrown Canadian internationals in Froese and Teibert, who starts as a winger for the first time this season.
