NOTES:
- Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson makes 10 changes from Saturday’s match against Seattle Sounders FC. Centre back Pa-Modou Kah is the only play who will start both matches. Eight of today’s starters – Adekugbe, Earnshaw, Flores, Froese, Laba, Mezquida, RodrÃguez, and Tornaghi – also started in last Wednesday’s 1-0 win over C.D. Olimpia at BC Place.
- Today’s starters have an average age of 24 years, 10 months, and two weeks. In total, nine different birth countries are represented in the starters: Argentina, Cuba, England, The Gambia, Honduras, Italy, United States (x2), Uruguay (x2) and Zambia. The starters also include two Homegrown Canadian internationals in Adekugbe and Froese and two on the bench in Bustos and Teibert.
- Right back Steven Beitashour (left knee sprain), Pedro Morales (right hamstring strain) and Darren Mattocks (hip contusion) remain sidelined due to injury.
- The winner of tonight’s match will finish atop Group F and advance to the knockout round. A draw, meanwhile, would eliminate Seattle and require Whitecaps FC to either win or draw against CD Olimpia on October 22 to advance.
