STORYLINES

Busy week continues: This will be Vancouver’s third match in the span of eight days, which combined with the travel and expected heat in Frisco, Texas could result in some squad rotation. Carl Robinson said on Wednesday there will certainly be some “freshness” in the lineup, but added that he likely won’t be making “eight or nine changes.”

Neck and neck: FC Dallas and Whitecaps FC are currently third and fourth respectively in the Western Conference standings. Dallas have been particularly strong defensively so far this season, having only conceded nine goals in nine matches – the best defensive record in the West.

Texas thrashing: The ‘Caps earned a 4-0 win in their last visit to Toyota Stadium – their first ever result away at FC Dallas. Dallas are unbeaten in 12 matches at home since that defeat.

KEY MATCHUP

Yordy Reyna (AM) vs. Mauro Diaz (AM): Yordy Reyna is coming off his best game of the season for Vancouver, recording a goal and an assist while playing as a second striker with Kei Kamara. His counterpart Mauro Diaz is one of the best chance-creators in MLS and currently has a team-leading five assists on the season. Which player will lead their team to victory?
