VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC (3W-4L-1D) hope to get back to their winning ways on Friday night when they host Western Conference foe Real Salt Lake (3W-3L-1D) at BC Place.

TICKETS: | KICKOFF: 7:30 p.m. PT | TV: TSN | RADIO: TSN 1040

Here are the key storylines to watch.

Bouncing back: The ‘Caps are looking for a strong response following a disappointing 6-0 defeat last Friday against Sporting Kansas City.

Home cookin’: Three of Vancouver’s next four matches will be played at BC Place, where they have won five straight matches against Real Salt Lake.

First home start? Anthony Blondell, who led the Venezuelan league with 24 goals in 2017, could make his first start at BC Place after two starts on the road.

Neck and neck: The ‘Caps and Real Salt Lake both sit just above the playoff line in the Western Conference with 10 points apiece following Week 8.

Anthony Blondell (FWD) vs. Justen Glad (CB): Can Blondell open his MLS account in front of the ‘Caps home faithful? If so, he’ll have to find a way to elude RSL centre back Justen Glad, who has a team-high 39 clearances and 22 interceptions on the season.

Cristian Techera has scored in each of Real Salt Lake's last four visits to BC Place, recording a total of five goals in those matches.

'I've asked them for a reaction. I hope they were disappointed as much as I was on the weekend because it hurts, and it has to hurt. You love to win and you hate to lose. That's instilled in them." - Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson
