STORYLINES

Scoring goals for fun: The ‘Caps have been one of the most exciting teams in MLS over the last month, scoring 11 goals during a five-match unbeaten run. Their 2.2 goals per game since Week 11 is tied for second best in MLS. A big part of the team’s recent attacking form has been the play of Yordy Reyna and Cristian Techera. Reyna has two goals and three assists in his last four matches, while Techera has six goals in his last four starts.

Henry’s home debut? Canadian international centre back Doneil Henry could make his first appearance at BC Place for Whitecaps FC after a strong debut last weekend, in which he had 15 clearances, four interceptions, and three blocks – all team-highs.

Former Lions: Centre back José Aja, who started 24 of his 25 MLS appearances with Orlando in 2016 and 2017, faces his former club for the first time after joining Whitecaps FC in February. Another former Lion is winger Brek Shea, who scored the winner in his return to Orlando last year.

KEY MATCHUP

Felipe (M) vs. Sacha Kljestan (M): Felipe and Kljestan formed one of the most successful midfield partnerships in MLS with New York Red Bulls over the last three seasons, helping New York win the MLS Supporters’ Shield in 2016. Now, they go head-to-head with their new clubs.
