VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC attacking midfielder Pedro Vite has been named to Major League Soccer's 22 Under 22 list for 2023, the league announced Thursday.

The Ecuadorian was ranked 16th overall and is the only player on the list to have appeared in every MLS regular season match for his team so far this season.
This season, Vite has been a key contributor for the 'Caps. The 21-year-old has started 26 of his team-high 42 appearances across all competitions in 2023, scoring six goals and adding four assists. Six of those goal contributions (four goals, two assists) have come in MLS play.
In addition, Vite became the second player in MLS history to score twice within the first 30 seconds of a match in the same season, thanks to his goals against Houston Dynamo FC and Austin FC.
Vite is the only South American on the list to have scored for his country at the senior level.
During his time with Whitecaps FC, Vite has made 40 starts and 67 appearances for the Blue and White, adding eight goals as well as six assists since joining the club in 2021 from Ecuadorian side Independiente Del Valle.
22 Under 22 is a list of the top 22 players in MLS under the age of 22 – as voted on by an expert panel consisting of select MLS staff and MLS Season Pass talent.
