MATCHUP HISTORY: The 'Caps and Seattle are tied together as far back as possible for both clubs. As part of North American Soccer League’s Western Division, the two expansion franchises’ inaugural season was 1974. Sunday's match will mark the 160th meeting between the two sides in official competition, with the ‘Caps all-time record against Seattle sitting at 55W-76L-28D.

WEEKLY STORYLINES
GOOD TO BE HOME: After five consecutive road matches, Vancouver Whitecaps FC returned to BC Place in emphatic fashion by claiming a resounding 4-1 victory over San Diego FC on Wednesday. It was a night full of milestones, as Aleksa Cvetković scored his first goal for the 'Caps, while Brian White netted his 100th MLS goal to become only the 17th player in league history to join the century club. In addition, Bruno Caicedo's insurance marker helped the 'Caps set a record for most goals scored in an MLS regular season with 67. The victory also tied the club's record for most home wins in an MLS regular season with 10 and marked the 32nd time Vancouver has scored three or more goals in Jesper Sørensen's 96 games at the helm.
KINGS OF CASCADIA: On Sunday, Vancouver turns their attention to a rivalry showdown against Seattle Sounders FC. Having already secured a record ninth Cascadia Cup, the 'Caps can make even more history by becoming the first team to win every Cascadia match in a single regular season. Vancouver swept the season series against Portland Timbers, winning 4-1 at Providence Park and 3-2 at BC Place, before earning a 2-0 victory at Seattle in August, with Rayan Elloumi and Thomas Müller finding the net. With the upper bowl open, more than 30,000 fans are expected at BC Place for Sunday's regular season home finale.
THE SØRENSEN EFFECT: Since taking the reins in January 2025, head coach Jesper Sørensen has guided the 'Caps to become one of the league's most successful teams. Vancouver boasts the second-best regular season record over nearly two years with a combined mark of 35W-15L-16D, trailing only Nashville SC at 37W-15L-14D. Over that span, the 'Caps lead MLS in goal difference with +62, have conceded the second fewest goals allowing just 71, while also ranking second in goals scored with 133. Sørensen's 121 regular season points rank second among head coaches in their first two MLS seasons, just three points shy of Gerardo 'Tata' Martino's league record of 124 with Atlanta United FC in 2017-18.
