VANCOUVER, BC – Coming off a record-breaking victory against Houston Dynamo FC in mid-week, Vancouver Whitecaps FC continue their four-game homestand at BC Place as they host their third annual Indigenous Peoples Match on Saturday, June 3 against Western Conference adversaries Sporting Kansas City. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.

Saturday's match will mark the 26th all-time meeting between the two teams and the first of two meetings this season.

SILENCE SKC'S JAZZ: Fresh off a record-breaking 6-2 victory over Houston Dynamo FC on Wednesday, Vancouver Whitecaps FC continue their four-game homestand at BC Place on Saturday as they take on Western Conference foes Sporting Kansas City in the clubs third annual Indigenous Peoples Celebration match. The 'Caps, who scored six goals for the first time in their MLS history against Houston, are unbeaten in their last seven MLS home matches (5W-0L-2D), which is tied for the second-longest active home unbeaten streak in the league. Meanwhile, Sporting come into the match having won their last two matches, but have only recorded one win in their last 15 away matches in MLS play dating back to last season.

INDIGENOUS PEOPLES CELEBRATION: Saturday's match against Sporting Kansas City will see Whitecaps FC host the club’s third annual Indigenous Peoples Match to celebrate the cultures and contributions of Indigenous and First Nations peoples. Several activations will take place during the day, including an Indigenous Artists Market pop-up at Terry Fox Plaza, Raven and hummingbird tea co, and Shining Bear Designs, a pre-match jamboree for more than 75 Indigenous youth from across the region, a pre- match performance on the pitch by Tsatsu Stalqayu (Coastal Wolf Pack) ahead of kickoff, and much more. Indigenous Peoples Celebration scarves designed by Debra Sparrow will also be available at sections 205, 222, 233, and 249.

GROOVIN' AND SCORIN': Midfielder Julian Gressel and attacking midfielder Pedro Vite both enjoyed a fruitful month of May by threatening opposing defences with their offensive creativity. The pair appeared in every match of May. Gressel, who was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday on Thursday, recorded four goals as well as an assist across all competitions. Meanwhile, Vite tallied three goals and two assists across all competitions.
