WEEKLY STORYLINES
HISTORY MAKERS: Vancouver Whitecaps FC closed out their MLS regular season home schedule in style last Sunday with a 5-1 victory over Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders FC. It was a historic day for the 'Caps, who established club records for home wins (11) and home points (35) in an MLS regular season. They also extended their single-season records for goals scored (72) and goal differential (+38). In addition, the Blue and White became the first team to sweep all of their Cascadia Cup matches. Brian White added another milestone to his storied Whitecaps FC career, reaching 100 goals for the club with a brace on Sunday and earning MLS Player of the Matchday for Matchday 34.
REVENGE IN QUÉBEC: The 'Caps head to Montréal for Decision Day looking to bounce back from their TELUS Canadian Championship defeat in September. In MLS play, Vancouver will look to extend its unbeaten run against Canadian opposition, having recorded six wins and two draws in its last eight matches against Montréal and Toronto FC. The 'Caps last faced Montréal in MLS action at BC Place last season, earning a 2-0 victory. Following Saturday's match, MLS will pause for the November FIFA international window before the 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs get underway.
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE: Vancouver secured a first-ever first-place finish in the Western Conference this past weekend, earning home-field advantage throughout the Western side of the 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs, starting on Sunday, November 22 at BC Place. Now, with a win or a draw in Montreal, they can cement themselves in second overall in the MLS standings, ahead of Inter Miami CF and New England Revolution, and everyone else from the Eastern Conference outside of Nashville SC. The 'Caps will open the postseason against the winner of the Western Conference Wild Card match. The Round One Best-of-3 Series will start at BC Place on Sunday, November 22. The 'Caps will then travel for Game Two, scheduled for either Friday, November 27 or Saturday, November 28. If necessary, Game Three will return to BC Place on either Tuesday, December 1 or Wednesday, December 2.

COLIN MILLER'S KEYS TO THE MATCH
- High press
Montreal try to play from the back.
If done well, our high press can earn us chances on the counter attack.
- Attitude is everything
Montreal are in last place in the Eastern Conference, with nothing to play for.
We must make sure our attitude and approach to the game give us one last big push before the playoffs start.
- Dynamic duo
Brian White and Ryan Gauld have rekindled their partnership.
They are playing well and leading by example.
With both of them in good form, we look a genuine threat going forward.
Catch Asa Rehman and Colin Miller on the CKNW call this Saturday, with the pre-match show kicking off at 6 p.m. PT.
