“This is an important window for us. There's a Nations League Finals place and a Gold Cup spot on the line, and we know how tough it will be to go to Guatemala City and get a result. We want to take care of business there, then come home to BMO Field and finish the job in front of our fans.”
- Jesse Marsch, Canada Soccer's Men's National Team Head Coach
This marks the fifth time Priso receives a call-up to Canada’s senior team, having represented the side during their January, March, June and September camps earlier this year. The Canadian has made four starts and six appearances for the national team.
So far this season, Priso has started 15 of his 24 appearances across all competitions for the 'Caps, recording one goal and one assist. All-time for the 'Caps, Priso has started 48 of his 90 appearances, recording two goals and six assists.
In his youth, Priso represented Canada at the U-17 level. The defender was a member of Canada’s squad at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil, where he started all three games in the group stage and added an assist.
Canada earned a bye directly into the quarterfinals of the Nations League as one of the region's four top-ranked nations, alongside Mexico, the United States and Panama. Guatemala advanced as winners of League A Group B, reaching the Nations League Quarterfinals for the first time in program history.
The two nations have met twice in the last 18 months with Guatemala having eliminated Canada in a penalty shootout in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup Quarterfinals, before Canada claimed a 1:0 win at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles in January.
The matches will close out a landmark 2026 for CANMNT, following the program's historic run to the Round of 16 at FIFA World Cup 2026™.
