VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Rayan Elloumi has been called up to Tunisia's men's national team for the March international window. This marks the first time Elloumi has received a call-up to Tunisia's senior side.
The window marks the penultimate meeting for international sides ahead of the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cupâ„¢ this summer, with Tunisia placed in Group F alongside the Netherlands, Japan, and the UEFA Playoff B winner between Ukraine, Sweden, Poland, and Albania. The following window will see teams play warm-up matches leading directly into the tournament, which starts on June 11 with the opening match between Mexico and South Africa in Group A.Â
The Eagles of Carthage will play a pair of friendly matches this window, starting on Saturday, March 28 against Haiti at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario. Kickoff for the match is set for 5 p.m. PT. Tunisia will then face Canada on Tuesday, March 31 at BMO Field, with kickoff set for 4:30 p.m. PT.Â
A product of Edmonton, Alberta, Elloumi has started four of his 17 appearances since signing a contract with the first team as a Homegrown player last September, when he became the eighth Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) MLS NEXT Pro player to join the first team.
The youngster then became the first 'Caps Homegrown to score on their home debut with his goal against Philadelphia Union. So far, the Canadian-Tunisian dual national has tallied two goals and two assists since joining the first team.
The forward originally joined the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy in August 2023 from BTB Soccer Academy in Edmonton. During his first year in Vancouver he competed at the MLS NEXT and League1 BC levels. He was also called up to Canada's men's national team for their January camp earlier this year.
