VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed on Friday that winger Emmanuel Sabbi underwent a successful procedure to repair a sports hernia on Wednesday, May 20.
“We are pleased to hear that Emmanuel’s procedure went well and we expect him to make a full recovery by August,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC sporting director.
The American international has scored two goals and added two assists in 15 appearances across all competitions for the ‘Caps this year. He was recognized on the MLS Team of the Matchday after recording a goal and assist against Sporting Kansas City on April 11.
Whitecaps FC will play their final match before the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup break this coming Saturday, May 23 against San Diego FC at Snapdragon Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. PT, watch live on Apple TV and listen on 730 CKNW.
