Charleston Battery moved to the top of the United Soccer Leagues First Division standings following the latest weekend of action.

Mike Anhaeuser's side made their way to the USL-1 summit after winning in Quebec, while Puerto Rico Islanders and Portland Timbers dropped points on the road. Austin Aztex, meanwhile, had mixed fortunes during their travels to Ohio and Upstate New York.

The action began on Friday evening, with Austin getting a first-half goal from Sullivan Silva to claim a
1-0 victory
at struggling Cleveland City Stars.

There were two matches on Saturday, with Puerto Rico held to a
goalless draw
by Miami FC Blues in South Florida. In Minnesota, a late strike by Jeremiah Bass gave the struggling Thunder a
1-1 draw
with high-flying Portland. Tony McManus scored the opener for the Timbers.

Sunday saw the Battery move back to first place in the league after Daniel Antoniuk's second-half strike gave the South Carolina club a
1-0 away win
over Montreal Impact. The result was the Impact's second straight league defeat. In Rochester, meanwhile, Austin were brought back down to earth by a rampant second-half Rhinos performance, as Darren Tilley's side defeated
the Aztex 4-1
at Marina Auto Stadium. Johnny Menyongar, Warren Ukah, Nano Short, and Ryan Heins all found the scoresheet after halftime for the home side.
