VANCOUVER, BC – Four-time defending champions Vancouver Whitecaps FC will begin their defence of the Voyageurs Cup in the quarterfinals of the 2026 TELUS Canadian Championship, facing the winner of the preliminary round matchup between Canadian Premier League (CPL) sides Cavalry FC and Pacific FC. The tournament bracket was determined during a live draw on Saturday.
The ’Caps will be looking to lift a record fifth consecutive Voyageurs Cup after winning the Canadian Championship in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. The winner of the Canadian Championship will qualify for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.
As defending champions, Vancouver will have a bye in the preliminary round, while the other 14 teams will vie to join them in the quarterfinals.
Whitecaps FC will play against either Cavalry FC or Pacific FC during a two-leg series, with the first leg on Wednesday, July 8 before the second leg on July 12 or 13. With BC Place unavailable due to the FIFA World Cup, the venue and date for the 'Caps home leg will be announced in the coming weeks.
Vancouver defeated both Cavalry FC and Pacific FC on their way to the 2024 championship. The ’Caps have also beaten Pacific FC in 2023 and Cavalry FC in 2022, while Pacific FC and Cavalry FC claimed victories over the 'Caps in 2021 and 2019, respectively.
