VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC will celebrate the club’s 13th annual Pride Match, presented by TELUS, on Saturday, August 1. Kickoff at BC Place is set for 4:30 p.m. PT, with the upper bowl open. For tickets, visit ticketmaster.ca/whitecaps, or whitecapsfc.com/tickets for all options.

Through the club’s annual Pride Match, Whitecaps FC and TELUS celebrate the power of sport to bring people together, foster inclusion, and create a sense of belonging for all communities. This partnership highlights the importance of equitable access and meaningful participation at every level of the game. This year’s Pride Match will take place during Vancouver Pride Week, leading into the Vancouver Pride Parade on Sunday, August 2.

For TELUS, showing up in meaningful allyship is a year-round commitment to helping everyone feel safe, valued, and respected. A cornerstone of this effort is Spectrum, a team member-led resource group launched in 2009 to support TELUS team members who identify as part of the LGBTQ2+ community and its allies. Spectrum fosters a more inclusive workplace by raising awareness of key issues through learning sessions, volunteering, fundraising and supporting Pride events across Canada and internationally.

As part of this year's Pride initiatives, TELUS is partnering with and donating to several charitable organizations that are making a meaningful impact in the LGBTQ2+ community, including Vancouver’s A Loving Spoonful, a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization that provides free, nutritious meals to people living with HIV and co-existing illness in Metro Vancouver.

As part of their ongoing support of the Queer, Trans, and Two-Spirit community, the 'Caps are also thrilled to partner with QMUNITY’s “Bring Pride Home” campaign. Whitecaps FC will match community donations up to $10,000 to support the opening of QMUNITY's new dedicated space at 981 Davie Street in Vancouver. This new facility will create room for expanded programs, dedicated gathering spaces for youth and seniors, and more opportunities for people to connect, heal, and belong. This match will mark the ’Caps return to BC Place following the FIFA World Cup 2026 and renew their rivalry with Los Angeles FC in a rematch of the 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs Western Conference Semifinal. This will be Vancouver’s first match at BC Place in 98 days, dating back to a 2-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids on April 25. Returning World Cup participants from Whitecaps FC include midfielders Sebastian Berhalter and Andrés Cubas, as well as striker Rayan Elloumi.

Prior to the club’s return to BC Place, Whitecaps FC will play their first competitive match at Swangard Stadium since 2010, hosting Canadian Premier League (CPL) side Cavalry FC in the first leg of the TELUS Canadian Championship quarterfinals on Wednesday, July 8. The second leg will be played on Monday, July 13 at ATCO Field.

Following the August 1 match, Whitecaps FC will quickly turn their attention to Leagues Cup, with a chance to add a major international trophy to the club’s cabinet.

The ’Caps will host home matches against Mexican opposition on Tuesday, August 4 (included for season ticket members) against Atlante FC, and Friday, August 7 against FC Juárez, before playing at El Volcán in Monterrey, Mexico against Tigres UANL on Tuesday, August 11.
