WFC2 sign defender Micaah Garnette

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Thursday that the club has signed defender Micaah Garnette to a Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) contract in MLS NEXT Pro through 2026.

  • Three seasons at the University of Portland, and one season at St. John’s University
  • One season in Germany with BW Königsdorf in
  • International experience with St. Kitts & Nevis U-17 and U-20 national teams

Garnette, 22, played the last three years for the University of Portland Pilots, making 43 appearances with two goals and seven assists. Prior to joining the Pilots, Garnette made 18 appearances for St. John’s University in 2021, scoring one goal and adding one assist.

In-between his time in college, the native of New Jersey spent the 2022-23 season at BW Königsdorf in the German fifth tier Mittelrheinliga, as well as time with FC Motown in USL League Two.

On the international stage, the dual-citizen represented St. Kitt & Nevis at both the U-17 and U-20 national team levels. In his youth, Garnette played at Cedar Stars Monmouth academy.
