VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Wednesday that the club has signed defender Trevor Wright to a Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) contract in MLS NEXT Pro through 2026.

Wright, 23, played four seasons at the University of Denver, captaining the Pioneers in both 2024 and 2025. Over his career, he shares the team record with 85 matches started, finishing with nine goals and seven assists. This past season, Wright was the 2025 Summit League Defensive Player of the Year, adding to his United Soccer Coaches All-West Region First Team (2022, 2025), Summit League First Team (2022, 2025), and Summit League Second Team (2024).
In his youth, the native of Castle Rock, Colorado played with Real Colorado.
