From roster updates in Major League Soccer to the draw for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, here’s what’s to look out for this week in MLS and abroad.  


Monday, November 27: Option Exercise Deadline
This is the deadline for teams no longer competing in the MLS Cup Playoffs to notify the league of the players whose contract options they are exercising for 2018. All roster decisions will be publicized by the individual clubs. Stay tuned to whitecapsfc.com for the latest.


Tuesday, November 28: Canada vs. Norway
Canada’s women’s national team takes on Norway in their final match of 2017. The international friendly, played in Marbella, Spain, will be streamed live on CanadaSoccer.com. Canada’s roster includes 16-year-old Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite striker Jordyn Huitema.


Wednesday, November 29: MLS Eastern Conference Championship
Toronto FC hosts Columbus Crew SC in the second leg of the Eastern Conference Championship, with the aggregate score tied 0-0. Watch the match live on TSN at 4:30 p.m. PT.


Thursday, November 30: MLS Western Conference Championship
Seattle Sounders FC takes a 2-0 lead into the second leg of the Western Conference Championship at CenturyLink Field. Watch the match live on TSN1 at 7:30 p.m. PT.


Friday, December 1: 2018 FIFA World Cup Draw
The 32 teams who qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup will learn their group stage opponents as the official tournament draw takes place at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow. Watch the draw live at 7 a.m. PT at fifa.com/worldcup
