Whitecaps FC name Adam Mooi BMO Kootenay East Academy head coach

 – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today the appointment of Adam Mooi as the BMO Kootenay East Academy Centre head coach.   
As part of a technical partnership agreement with the Kootenay East Youth Soccer Association (KEYSA), the umbrella organization for youth soccer in the East Kootenays, Mooi will act as the KEYSA technical director providing on and off-field services to KEYSA players and coaches. Mooi will also run Whitecaps FC BMO academy and camp programs, which includes the Kootenays ‘Caps to College program.
“We are really excited to have someone of Adam’s quality and experience lead our association partnership and academy programs in the East Kootenays,” said Marinos Papageorgopoulos, Whitecaps FC BMO Academy Centres director. “With KEYSA currently working to construct a
KEYSA Indoor Sports Facility
to provide year-round training, we see this as a great opportunity to grow the sport and help build more opportunities for the local players and coaches. ”
Mooi was most recently technical manager for the Manitoba Soccer Association, where he implemented and managed technical programs across Manitoba, including delivering national coach education courses.  He also acted as the head coach for the Canada Soccer Manitoba Regional Excel Centre, where he was responsible for talent identification and selection of players. He is very familiar with Whitecaps FC programming, having coached in the Manitoba Soccer Vancouver Whitecaps FC Prospect Program for three years, where he was responsible for creating and running sessions and high performance programs. He joined the MSA from Winnipeg South End United, working as the assistant technical director for two years. 
“We have had the opportunity to work with Adam in Manitoba as part of our MSA partnered programs, and were very impressed with him both on and off the field,” added Papageorgopoulos, “Once again we thank the MSA for the opportunity to have Adam bring his experience and quality to Whitecaps FC.”
Mooi holds a Canadian Soccer Association National B Coaching License and Children’s License. Off the field he is currently double majoring in human resource management and marketing at the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba.
Mooi begins his role In the Kootenays in early November.
