VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Tuesday that the club has signed free agent goalkeeper Cody Cropper through 2022, with a club option for 2023.

“Cody brings MLS and overseas experience to our young goalkeeping group.” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC sporting director. “He is a great fit in our team, and we are pleased to welcome him to the club.”
Cropper, 29, most recently spent time with USL Championship side Memphis 901 FC, where he kept four clean sheets across 15 starts and posted a record of 8W-5L-2D in all competitions, while on loan from FC Cincinnati.
Across six seasons in MLS, the product of Maple Grove, Minnesota has made 37 starts and kept 10 clean sheets in spells with New England Revolution, Houston Dynamo FC and Cincinnati.
The goalkeeper also enjoyed a loan spell with Hartford Athletic of the USL Championship in 2019, where he made nine starts during the regular season.
Prior to his time in MLS, Cropper started his professional career in England when he signed with Southampton FC in 2012. After featuring for Southampton’s U21s for 30 matches from 2012-15, Cropper joined MK Dons, where he made 12 appearances across all competitions in lone season with the club. Cropper also played for Ipswich Town’s academy in his youth days.
Internationally, Cropper has represented the United States at the U-20 and U-23 levels.
