VANvsCOL-532-2

Vancouver Whitecaps FC goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 10.

The Japanese shot-stopper made two saves, including a clutch penalty kick stop in the 78th minute to preserve a 0-0 draw against Colorado Rapids. Takaoka has now kept four straight clean sheets in MLS play, tying a club record.

Takaoka earns his second straight selection to the MLS Team of the Matchday (Matchday 8). He is one of five Whitecaps FC players who have earned the honour this season, joining Julian Gressel (Matchday 7), Ali Ahmed (Matchday 6), Simon Becher (Matchday 5, Matchday 6), and Tristan Blackmon (Matchday 4).
